Agenda:
1. Student Health Issues
Peanut free classrooms- third and fourth grades have students with severe allergies to peanuts and are peanut free areas of the school. End of guest table is peanut free.
New student to Sherwood with MD- discussed safe way to help him using a chair if he falls in hallway/bathroom while perserving student's dignity.
2. cNotify Changes
District will now enroll all new students to FHSD using information from DASL. We will not be calling staff members for snow days. Please keep your staff member phone tree to use in the case of an emergency other then inclement weather.
3. Disability Awareness Program
Program will replace Everybody Counts program at Sherwood. This year's focus will be Autism. We will host speaker Robert Parish on 10/9/2008 at 2:30 for school assembly and later that night at PTA meeting. Link to Mr. Parish's website on moodle.
4. Healthy Schools District Initiative
District initiative with Alliance for Healthier Generation. Sherwood will take care of this through the SOT team. Kay and Karyn Kerns volunteered to be point people.
5. Scott Forsman Reading Street Program
Debra, Megan and Donna and Karyn Kerns will be attending to learn about the online products available with the reading series.
6. COSI
COSI program will be 9/25 and 9/26 updated schedule will be in boxes soon.
7. Areas of need/Assistance
Band and Strings schedule and pulling students from classes... ongoing issue!
Starting up bus helpers- we will get this started soon Dan and Kay are on it!
Looking for names for the Disability Awareness program- submit ideas for a slogan or acroynm
If you need moodle or bingo help please let Shawn know
Sunshine committee- Megan shared info and asked for help
Spirit wear orders will be collected- hope to have order ready for end of the month
